Dishes – Poem
Soaking, rubbing, stroking, petting
Remove all stains and coverings,
be bare and embraced by my hands
I will grasp firmly, finger carefully, and smother you clean
No distractions will take you from my mind
My hands will wrinkle in heat and sweat
Plush towels will cradle your fragile frame
And in the end I will lay you down softly,
spent and clean.
